Zor-El is a posthumous overarching tritagonist in Season 2 of My Adventures with Superman. He is the younger brother to Jor-El, brother in-law to Lara Lor-Van and by proxy Kal-El's uncle. In his late teens or early twenties, it is presumed that he married an unknown individual and had a daughter with her, named Kara Zor-El.

Early Life[]

Death[]
Zor-El was presumably killed when Brainiac destroyed Krypton. He was survived by his daughter whom he had sent away before the planet's destruction only for Kara to be found and brainwashed by Brainiac.[1]
Legacy[]
Roughly two decades after Krypton's demise, Kara met Kal-El and mentioned that "her father" was the ruler of the New Kryptonian Empire, leading Superman to believe she was referring to Zor-El and that more Kryptonians had survived. When Kal voiced this assumption upon meeting Brainiac, Kara expressed confusion over who "Zor-El" was.[2]

Zor-El bears an incredible resemblance to his nephew, Kal-El, but possesses slightly darker skin and longer hair.

Trivia[]
- Zor El was created by Otto Binder and Al Plastino, first appearing in Action Comics #252 in May, 1959. The brother of Jor-El and father of Kara Zor-El, he is a Kryptonian Scientist who would survive the destruction of Krypton alongside his wife Alura In-Ze due to the protective dome surrounding Argo City. In the pre-Crisis continuity, he and his wife were thought to have died with Argo but escaped into a Survival Zone to be rescued by their daughter and brought to Kandor. In the post-Crisis continuity, Zor-El likewise managed to erect a protective dome around Argo but was captured by the Coluan cyborg Brainiac, whose technology had been salvaged to create the dome, and would be imprisoned in the shrunken city of Kandor.
- In the New 52, he would be the sole survivor of Argo City who would then be captured by Brainiac and transformed into Cyborg Superman.
