Biography[]
Early Life[]
Vicki knew Perry White in college. Vicki ran the number 1 student newspaper in the country while Perry ran the number 2 student newspaper in the country.
Years later, Vicki became a prize-winning reporter for her hard hitting exposes on Gotham’s criminal underworld and gained the admiration of young Lois Lane, who idolized her and wanted to become a reporter just like her.
Visiting Metropolis[]
Vicki arrived in Metropolis to work on a story, telling Perry that she might leave the Gotham Gazette to work for the Daily Planet if she gets a great story. Perry assigns Lois and Jimmy to work with her and later she reveals her assignment to them: she wants to expose Superman as a menace to society. Despite the pleas from the two interns for her to reconsider or to not go from a biased angle and take the positive comments from the citizens of Metropolis, Vicki eventually selected her sources and got what she wanted.
Her interview with Alex was the final “proof” she needed, as Alex recalled how Superman stopping Ivo’s rampage bankrupted AmazoTech, costing thousands of people their jobs and that a being with such powers cannot be trusted to never use them in malicious ways. Lois was disappointed that her hero was a horrible person but hesitated to defend Superman.
Vicki simply says she didn’t get to where she was by publishing the good news, sometimes you have to go “out for blood” to get the story. Vicki surprised Perry by leaving the Daily Planet, the Gotham Gazette later announced that her fearmongering story on Superman was going to get her a promotion to editor in chief of the paper. She had used and manipulated the Daily Planet as a means to just get a promotion.

She does this and incites fearmongering rather than seeking the truth just to sell more news.
