History[]
Weston is the CEO of Amertek. Following the fall of AmazoTech, Weston was desperate to have Amertek take their place as Metropolis' number one manufacturer. To this end, he issued the creation of the Amertek fusion generator and the Metallo robots to protect the city. However, when his lead engineers, Silas Stone and John Henry Irons informed him the fusion core was unstable and likely to explode, he disregarded them and ordered them to fix it. Weston then went on to pay off those who Silas and John talked about the defect to before firing them. Upon learning that the two had a recording of their conversation, Weston hired Livewire to threaten then into deleting the evidence and staying silent.

The day before the Fusion core and Metallo units are to go online, Thomas shows a brief demonstration to a crowd of reporters but prematurely ends it upon the Metallo drones malfunctioning. He then avoids questions from Lois Lane and Vicki Vale.
After Livewire ended their contract due to Superman’s involvement, Weston, panicked, and activated Amertech’s fusion core with the intent to stop Superman and John Irons from shutting it all down.
After the fusion core is destroyed, Thomas lamented on the side of the road that he isn’t a bad person and simply wanted to be number one.

- In the comics, Thomas Weston is a military Colonel, CEO of Amertek Industries, and a frequent enemy of Steel. First appearing in Steel Vol 2 #2 in March 1994, he was created by Louise Simonson, Jon Bogdanove, and Chris Batista.
