- The Psychic starfish is a possible reference to Starro. Created by Gardener Fox and Mike Sekowsky for The Brave and the Bold #28 in May, 1960, it is a member of the Star Conquerors, an alien species that resemble gigantic starfish but have powerful psychokinectic abilities via the usage of similar looking tiny spores that latch onto a host and control their victims mind. Starro's attempt to conquer the earth would lead to the formation of the Justice League, leading it to become a recurring enemy of the team.
