Nemesis Omega is the designation given to the mysterious leader of the Kryptonian fleet that led an attack on Earth, 22 years prior to the events of the series.
Omega's plans were eventually stopped by an unknown explosion. His attack on the Earth would ultimately inspire the creation of Task Force X to prevent another invasion like Omega's, as well as General Sam Lane's hatred and suspicions towards Superman.
Biography[]
Events of Zero Day[]
Twenty-two years prior to Superman's debut in Metropolis, a mysterious Kryptonian known only as Nemesis Omega spearheaded an attempted invasion on Earth during the incident that would come to be known as Zero Day. After sending through their 0MACs, Omega vaporized many soldiers using their heat vision. Before they could cross the warp gate, however, a flash of light on their side of the portal caused it to collapse, deactivating their army.[1]
Legacy[]
Nemesis Omega with Kal-El's face in his nightmare.
It is unknown what happened to Nemesis Omega after the events of Zero Day, but their actions on that day had a profound impact on Sam Lane and Amanda Waller, who were survivors of the incident. They founded Task Force X to prepare Earth should the alien invaders ever return. When Superman debuted in Metropolis, Waller and Lane wrongly assumed that he and Nemesis Omega are the same person, leading to Task Force X clashing with Superman on multiple occasions.[1]
After capturing Superman, Sam Lane showed him a holographic recording of Zero Day and Nemesis Omega's actions. Superman's reaction and age subsequently led Sam to doubt that Superman was Nemesis Omega.[1]
Clark later had a nightmare of Nemesis Omega, seeing the warrior return to Earth with an invading fleet before killing Lois Lane and Jimmy Olsen using his heat vision. His helmet then opens up, revealing Clark's own face underneath.[2]
When Amazo began unconsciously terraforming the land outside Cadmus into that of Krypton, Robert DuBois expressed the belief that Nemesis Omega had come to Earth with the end goal of colonizing it.[3]
Personality[]
Nemesis Omega has shown to be a cold-blooded killer who mercilessly slaughtered scores of soldiers by using their heat vision.
Appearance[]
Nemesis Omega wears a black with patches of gray and white high-tech suit of armor with red details on the chest, forehead, wrists, elbows and knees. The armor also comprises a dark red cape. What he looks like without the armor remains unknown.
Powers and Abilities[]
- Kryptonian Physiology: Nemesis Omega possesses various superhuman attributes and abilities that all Kryptonians share.
- Flight: Nemesis Omega was seen levitating in the air from the warp-gate portal.
- Heat Vision: Nemesis Omega fired a beam of intense heat in order to kill scores of soldiers.
Equipment[]
- 0MACs: Nemesis Omega commanded a legion of Kryptonian robots that attacked a military base on Zero Day.

Trivia[]
- Nemesis Omega's identity is currently unknown. As a (seemingly rogue) Kryptonian seeking to conquer Earth, they seem to draw at least some inspiration from General Dru-Zod, a Kryptonian general and one of Superman's greatest enemies who has often attempted to subjugate the Earth as a New Krypton. In The Ones Who Fell From Earth: Part Five, Robert DuBois theorizes that Nemesis Omega came to Earth with the intent to colonize it, a common goal of General Zod.
- It is unclear if Nemesis Omega's superhuman abilities are natural like Clark's, or provided to them by the technology in their possession.
- Nemesis Omega's model is reused in "More Things in Heaven And Earth" and "Pierce the Heavens, Superman!" as generic Kryptonian soldiers, suggesting that they were not very high-up on the Empire's chain of command.
- Given Jor-El and Brainiac's description of the Kryptonian Empire becoming a more benevolent state, the timeframe, along with their army being entirely robotic, would seem to indicate that Nemesis Omega was a rogue Kryptonian individual acting on their own accord.
