Biography[]

History[]

John Irons was born in Metropolis, but his work led him to move away. After taking a job at Amertek, John saw it as an opportunity to move back home and be a part of his niece Natasha's life. John, as a Metropolis native, became the PR face of the company. However, John and his partner Silas Stone eventually concluded that the Amertek fusion core powering the Metallo units made them highly unstable and likely to explode. When they confronted Thomas Weston, the company CEO, about this, he refused to shut things down. However John and Silas secretly recorded the conversation, but everyone they talked to was paid off by Weston and the two were eventually fired. Weston would go on to hire Livewire to intimidate them into remaining silent and erasing any evidence. [1]

Season 2[]

Fullmetal Scientist[]

Unsure who to reach out to, John spoke to his niece, who directed him to Flamebird, leading him to send them a tip about the danger posed by the Metallos. This tip was followed up on by Flip Johnson, who was able to lead Jimmy Olsen and Superman to John's address. John explained the situation to them, but then Liveweire arrived and destroyed his evidence before fleeing.

As Weston activated the fusion core, John and Superman went to AmerTek to stop it. As Superman fought off the Metallos, John went to his lab and acquired a Steel Mech Suit mech suit before going to help him, managing to shut off the power feed to the fusion core after Superman contained it.

Following the incident, John is helping to work on cleanup when he is told by security that he has become banned from the premises, with Lex Luthor arriving and revealing that AmerTek and all of its intellectual property had been acquired by LexCorp.[1]

My Adventures with Supergirl[]

Irons was eventually recruited by Sam Lane into the Cavalry. When Brainiac invaded Metropolis, Irons first saved Jimmy, Lois Lane and Steve Lombard from the hacked Metallos before joining his teammates to clear a path to Kandor for Superman and Supergirl.

A week after Brainiac had been repulsed, Irons was in attendance at a celebratory barbecue in at the Kent Farm.[2]
