Humans, also known as Homo Sapiens, are the primary inhabitants of the planet Earth.
Biography[]
The last of the genus Homo and the most evolved and dominant species of primates on Earth, humans have lived on the planet for millennia and have shaped the world through technological progress and innovation. Compared to other bipedal sapient species, humans are a bit more primitive in technology, having just developed the means to make interstellar travel possible, putting them centuries behind other alien races, such as Kryptonians. While there are vague hints that there are humans who possess extraordinary abilities, by standard means, the species is rather fragile and weaker than most other lifeforms in the universe. The only way to attain any unique abilities outside of pushing their limits is through various forms of augmentation, often through the use of reverse-engineering alien technology to essentially gain superpowers, though the ethics behind such means are dubious and controlled by government agencies who do not have the best of intentions. In addition to this, the select humans that gain powers are considered Metahumans.
While a race dedicated to making moral choices, humanity is not without its faults, including certain ones having xenophobia towards aliens after the events of Zero Day proved that they were not alone in the universe and had limited to no means of defending themselves from them. Some have been more open-minded and accepting of aliens, especially with the appearance of Superman, though the former group are trying to stoke their hateful paranoid agenda to get what they want and rid themselves of the Man of Steel. Humans also commit crimes for various reasons, including wealth, inequality, greed or acts of passion such as pride, narcissism, hatred or envy.
