The noble House of El was one of the ruling families of Krypton, sitting upon the High Council. The bloodline's reign ended when their home planet was destroyed by Brainiac, then their empire fell, but the bloodline survived through the lives of Kal-El and Kara Zor-El.

- The House of El insignia is used by Superman as the symbol on his chest. However, it is unknown what it means in this incarnation, as, in the DCEU, according to Jor-El, the symbol means "Hope".
