The Freeze Ray is an advanced cryogenic device developed by Task Force X from Kryptonian technology retrieved during Zero Day. It was later stolen by Livewire from Mt. Simonson Base, who then gave it to Intergang. It would then be used them to infiltrate and rob the Metropolitan City Bank. A more compact version would later be used by Sam Lane when he and Lois Lane were trying to escape from Task Force X.
