The Daily Planet is a news organization located in Metropolis. It has various employees, including Clark Kent, Lois Lane and Jimmy Olsen.

History[]

In 2023, Clark Kent and Jimmy Olsen began their internship with the Daily Planet, being assigned to Lois Lane to mentor. Though Perry told the three to stick to office functions, the trio investigated a story about stolen military hardware. Though annoyed at them, Perry promised to run the story if they got an interview with "Superman".[1] When Lois and Jimmy brought what he wanted, the Daily Planet ran the story but gave the byline to Cat Grant, Ronnie Troupe and Steve Lombard.[2]

Hearing rumours that Vicki Vale might leave the Gotham Gazette, Perry made her an offer to write an editorial for the Planet, hoping to hire her. In truth, Vicki had manipulated the Planet into letting her write a biased hit-piece against Superman as part of a gambit to be promoted to editor-in-chief of the Gazette. [3]

At Thanksgiving of that year, Perry bought out Jimmy Olsen's Flamebird platform, making it a video branch of the Planet.[4]

A week after Brainiac's invasion had been repulsed, the staff of the Daily Planet attended a celebratory barbecue at the Kent Farm with the paper publishing an article detailing the story. To Perry's rage though, the Gotham Gazette had managed to get an exclusive interview with Supergirl. [5]
