Cadmus was a military branch charged with studying strange technology provided by the government. Its remnants are seen in My Adventures with Mad Science. The only known members are the Brain, a young scientist whose body was destroyed and Monsieur Mallah, an ordinary gorilla that was granted super-intelligence by the young scientist.
They were tasked with creating weapons but chose to create beneficial inventions for which they were disavowed by the government who sent Task Force X, led by Sam Lane to eliminate them. Task Force X accidentally destabilized one of their experiments, an unstable black hole, and caused a huge explosion that partially destroyed a mountain. The Brain lost his body but Mallah was able to implant his brain into a cybernetic body.
22 years later Jimmy Olsen, Lois lane and Clark Kent stumble on the site and activate the OMAC robots sent by Task Force X.
Mallah gets an idea on how to stabilize the black hole which consumes the OMAC robots which makes it reach critical mass and becomes a portal to an alternate dimension. Brain and Mallah leave to their new world, where they can be safe from people that would fear and hate them.
