- The Brain, otherwise known as Ultimax, was created by Arnold Drake and Bruno Premiani, first appearing in Doom Patrol #86 in June of 1964. A scientist who got caught in an explosion, leaving only his brain intact, he became a criminal mastermind and leader of the Brotherhood of Evil whose schemes of world domination has lead him to conflict with his Archenemies, the Doom Patrol on several occasions.
- During the Brain’s journey across the multiverse, he and his partner Mallah encounter evil versions of themselves, with his counterpart loosely resembling a Dalek from Doctor Who.
