- The diner’s name is a reference to Jon Bogdanove, a DC comics penciler and artist whose body of work includes multiple Superman comics. He was responsible for the majority of pencil artwork for the comic run of Superman: The Man of Steel from 1991 to 2003 and was one of the many collaborators on The Wedding Album, the 1996 comic issue which saw Clark Kent and Lois Lane finally get married.
