The OMACs are androids created by Kryptonians and used during the Zero Day invasion. In the aftermath of the tragedy, Task Force X reverse-engineered the androids to serve their purposes.
Biography[]
The OMACs appeared during the events of Zero Day where a portal opened up, where a military camp where Sam and Waller were stationed. They were released on Earth where they started attacking, vaporizing numerous soldiers, and injuring Waller. However, a mysterious explosion happened causing the portal to close and the OMACs were deactivated. After the events of Zero Day, the robots were taken by the army and were reversed-engineered to create larger versions to defend Earth from another invasion as well as fighting Superman.
Apperance[]
The Kryptonian versions are much more advanced, with limbs floating around the core body. The Task Force X versions feature connected limbs. While the humanoid versions are the most common, there are multiple variations of the robots. The Kryptonian army used humanoid robots as well as larger, quadrupedal versions. Task Force X uses mostly humanoid robots, but also uses smaller walking and hovering drones.
Capabilities[]
- Transformative Capabilities: In "Zero Day Part 2" during Nemesis Omega's invasion, the OMACs could tranform from triangular ships to humanoid androids. And in "My Adventures with Science", the OMACs at CADMUS could transform from small, hovering pods into big, mechanized robots.
- Built-in Weapons: The OMACs can fire lasers and launch missiles from their super structures.
- Levitation: The small pod-like OMACs can hover and float in mid air.
- Brainiac System: Being machines from Krypton, the OMACs are linked to the Brainiac System (a.k.a Brainiac himself), which gives him complete control of their directions and actions.
Weaknesses[]
- Kryptonite: When exposed to Kryptonite, the OMACs stop functioning and are covered in crystals.
Trivia[]
- OMAC is the creation of Jack Kirby during his time at DC Comics in the 1970s, originally the superhero persona of Buddy Blank who, through the alteration of his genetics by an AI satellite called Brother Eye, becomes the One Man Army Corps. The modern comic incarnations are cyborgs created by a nano virus altering unwilling human beings into deadly superhumans, though they can serve the side of justice in certain situations.
