This special ability was shown once before in the "All-Star Superman" movie, where major exposure to the sun bestowed this unique skill onto Superman before his untimely death. Now in this new recent animated series, he uses it to reflect electrical-based attacks and shoot super-heated plasma from his mouth, and further surprise is that his cousin Kara-Zor-El has it too!!

Why not show more if it where is can further increase their already superhuman physical attributes and help survive a potential supernova like in the comics. I also hope the new character Superboy gets a bio-electric aura as well, being half of Superman's gene pool.
